The school was built in the 1950s and extended in October 2016 to give the school seven class rooms, a purpose built Foundation Stage 2 unit and nursery unit. The school buildings are well maintained and securely fenced. Our site manager works hard to ensure the building is in excellent condition. The interior of our school is vibrant and will give you some excellent examples of the range of activities the children experience on a daily basis. Recent, improvements (September 2017) have been made to the main school building including the refurbishment of two Year 1 classrooms and toilet area and also the creation of a new ‘quiet’ room where small group interventions can take place.
2016 saw the outdoor space significantly increase with the school now having a playing field. A new trim trail was fitted in the playground and opened in January 2017, funded by our RAINS committee and opened by local gymnasts Beckie and Ellie Downie. The RAINS committee have also raised money to provide extra seating and sheltered areas for the children to sit and talk. The new Foundation Stage includes a separate outdoor play area which includes an adventure trail for the children. The nursery outdoor area was also improved during this time and brand new all weather surfacing laid. Both these outside play areas offer our children an exciting and colourful extension to their indoor facilities and numerous outdoor learning opportunities.
