Welcome to Ladybirds Class!
How time flies when you are having fun ! It seems amazing that we are well into our first Spring term and so far the weather has been really kind to us. However in the event of very cold weather can you ensure that your child has appropriate clothing to play outdoors.
Our topic this half term has been Traditional tales and the children have really enjoyed learning about the characters and the stories that are familiar to them.
In maths children are beginning to understand the symbols used in addition number sentences and are continuing to explore how much each number is worth in numerous contexts.
Our physical curriculum is being extended to include more formal PE sessions, so PE kits need to be in school every day. Please help your child practise dressing and undressing ready for PE, if they cannot do this already by themselves.
Hopefully your children will experience making gingerbread, lots of painting, re- enacting of stories, bridge building, shelter building and performing songs and action rhymes.
Now the children are more settled we would appreciate some parent helpers to volunteer to either help sort and audit resources or to hear some children read. Please let your class teacher know if you are available.
Thank you for your continued support.
Parents evening is coming up and is an opportunity to find out how your child is progressing and to discuss any issues or concerns you may have.
There is an INSET day on 15th of Feb and school is closed to all children for staff training.
We will be including show and tell in our curriculum as part of the communication and language strand. Please keep an eye out for dates when your child can bring something into the unit that bis of significant interest (not toys!)
