Here at Radcliffe on Trent Nursery and Infant School we endeavour to ‘look after our school and the world around us’. To aid our understanding of how important our woods and trees are to our local and global wildlife and communities we have joined The Woodland Trust’s ‘Green Tree Schools’ initiative.
The Woodland Trust is a charity dedicated to creating new woodland and protecting ancient woodland for future generations to cherish. Through their Green Tree Award we look to bring the great outdoors, wildlife and green issues into the classroom.
Over the last year we have been getting involved in a wide range of green activities including tree planting, visiting local woodlands and recycling. We are very proud to have been awarded the Woodland Trust’s ‘Green Tree Gold Award’ for our efforts and are currently working towards achieving ‘Platinum’ status.
