At Radcliffe on Trent Infant and Nursery School we aim to promote and provide all our pupils with the opportunity to enhance their sporting experiences though an enriched PE curriculum and through extra-curricular clubs and activities.
Our PE curriculum works in conjunction with the key principles of our curriculum. We believe that physical education, experienced in a safe and supportive environment, is both vital and unique in its contribution to a pupil's physical and emotional development and health.
We using the Real PE scheme and aim to embed fundamental physical skills as well as learning behaviours that can be applied in all aspects of the curriculum.
Real PE is a child-centred approach that is transforming how we teach PE to include, challenge and support every child. It gives every child the physical literacy, emotional and thinking skills to achieve in PE, Sport and life. PE is used as a vehicle to facilitate access to learning behaviours (personal, social, creative, cognitive, physical, health and fitness) that can be applied in all subjects rather than exclusively with the acquisition of motor skills and techniques.
It is fully aligned to the National Curriculum and focuses on the development of agility, balance and coordination, healthy competition and cooperative learning through a creative approach to teaching and learning in PE.
