Sport Relief day
We have had a great day celebrating "Sport Relief". We started the day off with a Zumba session in the hall, then did our daily mile around the big playground and did some exercises. We then had lots of physical challenges to do back in the outdoor area of the F2 unit. We will definitely sleep well tonight!
World Book Week
We have had a great week in school for World Book Week. We all had to bring in our favourite books from home which we shared with our friends, and we had to draw and write about them. We also did some paired reading with our friends in Year 2. We shared and read stories together.
We also had a visit to our local library in Radcliffe on Trent. The Librarian showed us all around the library and we sang some songs and read stories. Our grown ups that came with us also helped us choose some stories to read together. We had a great time.
Visit from the Wildlife Trust
We have had a brilliant time today with Sarah from Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust. We have been in the school grounds looking for signs of Autumn.
We had to use mirrors to look up in the trees, we made clay hedgehogs, went on a colour hunt and made leaf mobiles.
We think Autumn is fantastic!
What a great start we have had to this term with the children settling well into their new class.
We have made lots of new friends and have been getting to know where everything is. Next week we will be going over into the school hall to do some yoga and P.E but we will only be taking off our shoes and socks for for the first few weeks. We will be adding photographs over the next few weeks so that you can see what we've been up to .
Welcome to Ladybird class.
We have a busy first half term ahead where we will be getting to know you and introducing our new topic "Me, myself and I".
Just a reminder, make sure you send your child into school with their "discovery bags", as we will be discussing these in circle times with the rest of the class.
Our F2 newsletter in September will have lots of information about the upcoming term.
One date for your diary already is our Harvest Festival celebration at St Mary's church on Monday 7th Oct in the afternoon.
We are really looking forward to seeing everyone in their new school uniforms and shiny shoes!
Have a wonderful summer.
See you all in September.
