Welcome to Hedgehog Class.
We hope you have had a fantastic Christmas break and it is lovely to see the children have come back to school eager and ready to learn! Our topic for this half term is all about "Where do I live?". This is a geography focused topic and to launch it we are going on a village walk on Thursday 9th January. On this walk we will be following a map to walk into the village - looking at the houses and shops and what is in our village. Throughout the topic we will also be learning about the United Kingdom and comparing Radcliffe to hot and cold places.
Alongside our topic we will also be completing daily phonics and number sessions. In English sessions we will be focusing on writing simple sentences, remembering finger spaces, full stops and capital letters. The children will continue to read everyday in phonics and once a week with their class teacher. In number we will be looking at working with numbers within 20 to solve addition and subtraction problems.
If you have any questions or concerns then please do not hesitate to contact us.
