NEW Toilets
Fri 15 Dec 2023NEW Toilets
As a school we have been very fortunate to have toilets in each classroom and not shared as most schools have in a communal year group area. Unfortunately, the toilets have over the last couple of years detreated and are no longer fit for purpose, but we still have facilities and the ratios are still at a legal threshold.
We have been in discussions with the Local Authority for nearly 2 years on this matter and we can happily tell you all we will be having new toilets in all of the classrooms and nursery.
This project is underway behind the scenes and we have been informed that the works will begin after April 2024, Once we have a definite date we will let you know. Due to the cost of the project the Local Authority could not do it before this date.
In the interim we have added the drawings and design below.
We appreciate that this has been tricky for some children but we hope you will appreciate that this situation has been out of the schools control as it has been with the Local Authority to resolve.
Should anyone have any questions on this matter please do not hesitate to contact Jane Smith the School Business manager.

Here are some of your lovely responses about the best things about Radcliffe on Trent Infant and Nursery School. A lot of these opinions are repeated but many of you.
Feedback like this is fantastic and we are so happy your children are happy and feel safe. You love our staff and the feeling you get of being welcomed, included and supported within the school community.

Mental Health Drop In - Thursday 30th November 9am
Tue 28 Nov 2023As you are aware, we strive to support our school community, children, and parents, with their wellbeing and positive mental health by engaging with Mental Health Support Team throughout the year. We have arranged a ‘Parent Drop In’, where you are invited to drop in to school after delivering your child/children to their class on Thursday 30th November 9am – 9.45am. The drop in is a safe, confidential, and informal opportunity for you to chat with Katey, our school link with the MHST Team, and with Mrs Smith, our ELSA and Mental Health Lead. Please see the message below from Katey:
Katey from the MHST will be running an informal drop in information stand for parents/carers on Thursday 30th November from 9am-9.45am. Please feel free to come along to find out what support the MHST can offer parents/carers and young people and what work they do to promote mental health and wellbeing within school. https://www.nottinghamshirehealthcare.nhs.uk/camhs-mental-health-support-teams/ https://youtu.be/BFkndxVd_Ys
The QR code can be scanned if you wish to self-refer yourselves to the service, click on the links above to find out more about the team and what they can offer.
We look forward to seeing you, no issue is too big or small, it will be great see you. If this day and time does not work for you, but you would like to engage with the service, please contact Mrs Smith by email: inclusion@rotins.notts.sch.uk

#HelloYellow
Fri 13 Oct 2023On Tuesday the school looked like a sea of sunshine with many children and staff coming to school wearing yellow in recognition of Mental Health day. We joined with schools all over the country, raising awareness of the charity Young Minds, the importance of looking after our wellbeing, and talking about how we are feeling.
As well as many activities in class thinking about our wellbeing we were treated to a visit from local author Jo Jones who writes children’s self help books on. She brought along some friends who were helping each other when one was experiencing ‘the wobbles’. She also taught use some Makaton signs for a well known song about not worrying, because everything will be alright. We were thrilled as we already knew it! It was our Assembly piece of music this week – 3 Little Birds by Bob Marley.
For further details about what we do to help our children's mental health and wellbeing, head over to our page on the website, where you will also find the latest Wellbeing Newsletter.

Rainbow Value of the Month
Fri 22 Sep 2023 -
September 2023
Tue 05 Sep 2023September drop off and pick up points
School times are 8:50am – 3:30pm for children in school, 8:40am-11:40am and 12:40pm -3:40pm for children in Caterpillar Nursery.
The two main entrances to school eg via the main drive and the gate by SNA, which will be accessible until 8.55am. Late arrivals must be brought through the school office to be signed in separately, (you will be asked for a reason for lateness).
Children in Owl, Kingfisher, Robin and Hedgehog Class will be collected from the main school drive. The teachers and teaching assistants will collect the classes from the drive and Hedgehog class will go through the main school reception entrance and into their class, whilst Kingfisher, Robin and Owl will go through the green gate round to their classrooms. At the end of the day, we would like parents to line up in their class lines so we can safely hand over the children promptly.
For children in Fox class they will be using the yellow ramps opposite the Reception unit. Children in Badger class will line up outside the staffroom, opposite the Nursery entrance. Children will be met by class teachers and teaching assistants at the yellow doors.
Children in Bumblebee and Ladybird classes will congregate in the Foundation unit playground.
We will make sure entrances are clearly signposted for the first couple of days so please do not worry if you are not sure where to go.
