Pupil Council
At Radcliffe on Trent Infant and Nursery School, our Pupil Council is made up of 2 representatives from each Key Stage 1 class. The children nominate themselves, do a short presentation to their classmates about why they would make a good pupil council representative, and then their class mates vote on who they want to represent their class.
The Pupil Council meets regularly to discuss and take action on a range of issues relevant to our school, including play times and lunchtimes, behaviour and playground redevelopment. The children also share ideas and suggestions for the organisation of fundraising events.
Recent feedback from Pupil Council about what is great about our school includes-
- Learning about so many different things
- Having lots of different equipment and resources in the classroom that helps with learning and remembering
- Apps that can be used at school and at home including Purple Mash, Numbots and Spelling Shed
- Competitions and homework challenges
- Celebrating each others achievements in Rainbow assemblies
- Having brain breaks to move and dance
- Forest School
- Trips
- Clear rules on how to behave
- Having lots of equipment to use at play times.
Pupil Council have decided that to improve the school even more over the next few months they will be looking to provide-
- Goals for football
- A calm indoor area at play times for reading, drawing and board games
- An even greater range of equipment for play times
- Class pets which can be taken home and cared for by different children in the holidays
