We are delighted that you have chosen “Caterpillar Nursery” at Radcliffe on Trent Infant and Nursery School to begin your child’s educational journey. We are very proud of our Nursery provision and can’t wait to meet you and your child, so we can work together to ensure we help your child reach their full potential.
We offer a stimulating, child-centred environment, which provokes curiosity, creativity and exploration. Caterpillar Nursery is bright and welcoming, is well resourced and has a lovely outside area which we use whatever the weather every day!
Our Nursery children are also able to access lots of resources within the wider school and do so on a weekly basis, including using the hall where they have PE/ physical sessions and also the “big playground” and Daily Mile running track.
Children’s learning is carefully planned by the staff in Caterpillar Nursery, and we try to immerse children in books, stories, songs and rhymes as much as we can. We do plan around topics relevant to the children and also follow the children’s interests. The children also take part in daily short phonics sessions so they have the foundational skills they need to learn to read and write when they start in Reception Year and daily numeracy sessions so they can begin to have a understanding of the meaning of number.
Children in our school nursery also take part in some school events, such as their own Christmas Nativity each year, the Outdoor Summer Concert, Sports day and they are very much part of our school family.
